Reason for GATE 2026 Postponement
As per the official annual calendar released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Prelims 2026 is scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026. Since a large number of students appear for both exams, the GATE 2026 committee decided to reschedule the GATE examination (CE, EC, EE, GE, GG, IN, ME, PI) that were initially planned for February 8 to ensure no students have to miss both exams.
